ITEL-SERVICE

Office for PE "Itel-Service" (Rivne)

Incoming data

We developed this office for the company PE "Itel-Service", which works in the high-tech industry - design and construction of communications. For example, it is the design of radio and television stations, cellular networks, digital terrestrial television.
The number of office staff is about 30 people. The structure is as follows: two project departments, accounting and director.

The room for the new office is located in a new building and occupies part of the second floor. Total area - about 300 square meters. The developer rented this room as an open space, with a frame of columns, sewer outlets and two stairwells. Only the location of the bathroom and the front door is permanent. Another strength of the room are the large panoramic windows on the entire height of the walls.

Customer vision + experience of designers = the final concept of office organization

The customer saw the future office in the classic planning scheme.
It was to be a corridor with entrances to two separate offices for design departments, a meeting room, a room for administrative staff, a kitchen, a bathroom, technical and utility rooms. After visiting the facility, we saw that the room is open and does not impose restrictions on planning. Now our task was to find out which functional organization will be optimal and determine the visual style of the office.
The customer planned that the company's design departments would sit in two separate offices. But this is the principle of workers' organization

space has shortcomings that may not be immediately apparent. Due to the arrangement of walls and corridors, useful space is lost, and due to the isolation of departments, the team communicates poorly with each other and spends more time solving work issues. And the level of informal communication between employees also deteriorates when they are placed in different offices. Not to mention the visual component, because some small rooms create an atmosphere of isolation and secrecy. Therefore, we invited the customer to join the team and place the two project departments together in a common open space.

Style concept

The idea of stylistic design of the office was born in our country during the first visits to the object, when the construction was still being completed. The construction of monolithic concrete, its strict steel color inspired us to leave the ceiling, columns and walls open. This was the first impetus for the design concept, which was based on a neutral gray color and texture of rough concrete.
This style is ideologically close to the serious high-tech sphere in which the customer company operates, and this has become another factor "for" the choice of such a concept. Next, we chose shades of other materials for this main color: wood, dark gray carpet and introduced bright yellow for contrast. The addition was green plants, which perform the function of air purification, and enliven the color scheme and, most importantly - have a good effect on the psycho-emotional state of the team, give a sense of harmony and comfort.
In support of this design concept, we decided that all communications, electricity, ventilation will be laid by the open method of installation and will be visually visible. This is a self-sufficient decorative technique that will symbolically convey the technological profile of the company and will be perfectly combined with untreated concrete walls and ceiling.

Common space

Common space

Due to the fact that we abandoned the corridor and interior walls, we managed to increase the area for jobs. Their priority was to place them near the panoramic windows in order to make the most of the natural light source. The open working space is zoned due to the furniture of appropriate designs and transparent walls. The advantage of such zoning is that it can be easily and quickly transformed to different numbers of people and different needs. You can increase the number of employees in one department, and reduce in another, or add a third department (the company plans to increase the number of employees in the future). Along the wall that separates the combined space from other office spaces, the designers have planned hidden storage areas for clothes, personal belongings, stationery, etc. As a result, the space is not overloaded with unnecessary items, maintains its volume, sets up the team for productive work and does not distract from it. Entrances to other office premises are located along this wall. The doors to them are as inconspicuous and visually identical to the doors of storage areas.

Recreation

Due to the fact that the workspace is open, we were able to arrange another multifunctional area that can be used for business meetings.
It is located between the design departments, zones them and is partially separated by load-bearing concrete structures and movable opaque panels. There is a sofa bed, coffee table and chairs. In the open, it can be a comfortable place for relaxation or individual work. But, if necessary, this area is completely separated from the general space of the office by a system of glass movable planes. Together with opaque panels, they form walls. Such a dynamic space is convenient for its versatility and the fact that it transforms very quickly. An added bonus - opaque panels can be used as flipcharts and just write on them.

Kitchen-dining room

Equipped with all necessary appliances and equipment for cooking. The kitchen area is quite large, so it can easily accommodate the entire staff of the office. There are several scenarios for a comfortable meal - locally at the bar or at a large common table. Different options for kitchen planning were considered: a table with a sofa plus a bar counter, a table with chairs plus a bar counter, several separate small tables, which, if necessary, form a common table. When we visualized all of these options, it became clear that a few small individual tables would cause chaos and leave little room to move around the kitchen. The version with a sofa was rejected, because although it is comfortable to sit on, it is large and there will not be enough space for everyone. So, we stopped at the same common table with chairs and a separate bar.
