Design-project of one-story private house,
Rivne, Voloshkova street

Planning

The design project is implemented in a one-story private house, where a family of four lives: parents and two adult sons.
Customers approached us at the stage of readiness of the building foundation and utilities.
The key factor we were guided by when zoning the house was the composition of the family. Since the children are adults, we asked customers to divide the living space of the house into two parts: parent and child. To do this, separate the functional flows of family members.

In practice, it looks like this: in the center of the house is organized public open space, which includes a living room with fireplace area and TV, dining room and kitchen. To the left of the living room, they planned their parents' bedroom with their wardrobe, storage area and bathroom. To the right of the living room were two sons' bedrooms, separated by a separate bathroom. Bathrooms for parents and children are actually for personal use and entrances to them are not public. Therefore, it was decided to organize another, with a minimum set of elements, household and guest purposes.

Planing
Concept

After agreeing with the customers of the planning scheme, we developed a general concept of home design. Identified a list of materials to be used, colors, textures, general themes, lighting scenarios and more. After that, we worked separately with each zone.
The general space of the house had a very specific shape, so we proposed to use the brightest materials and play on the contrast of glossy and matte textures. The design of all zones is based on the use of many natural materials: wood, rough metal, wrought iron elements, fabrics of natural rough texture. Light shades predominate. We introduced dark colors only for accentuation and contrast.

Common space

The living area, which is part of the public space, includes a seating area, a large TV and a fireplace. We proposed to emphasize the importance of the fireplace area as an analogue of the family hearth and emphasized the use of firewood. The use of natural materials (wood) and originality of design also played a role here. The fireplace area received a self-sufficient function as a result and became the center of space of the house. And the kitchen-dining area concisely complements this composition. Although spacious and combined, but at the same time they are conceptually separated by their functionality, which provides us with the opportunity to comfortably use all areas at the same time without interfering with each other.

Principles of lighting

One of the important elements of the formation of the space of this house was light. Although the basic materials are similar in color to white, we decided to use an additional effect of light in order to achieve different visual effects in certain areas or surfaces. In fact, the placement of lighting implements three functions. The first is a purely practical, direct light source. The second is also self-sufficient, but one that illuminates locally.
And the third - purely decorative lighting, which is behind the furniture or wall panels along the contour, or floods the glass plane with light from the inside. This visually breaks the mass of forms, facilitates their perception.

Children's rooms

The decoration of the sons' rooms used rough textures, concrete, rough elements, unpolished brick, which in combination with wood very organically fit into the overall concept of the house.
Both bedrooms of the sons on the one hand are very similar, because the concept of their design is the same. But we managed to achieve self-sufficiency, while maintaining common features and atmosphere. The planning structure, function, materials in the rooms are repeated, but in one of the rooms more emphasis is placed on textures, in the other - on colors.
